When deciding among beers, “it’s important to consider tastes, flavour, smells, and food pairing options,” says Consumer Reports.

The magazine suggests using its ratings and reviews “to discover the types of beer that appeal to you, and the most important brewer, fermentation, ingredient, and flavour characteristics to consider.”

Here is the Consumer Reports’ selection of recommended craft beers. The maximum overall score is 100, and “Best Buy” models offer more value.
